Customer story

ExFabrica

ExFabrica for a logistics leader with more than €4B in revenue

A delivery manager built a business-critical finance app from requirements to production.

ExFabrica, a bespoke digital product company, used Maleus to build a management accounting application for one of its clients, a logistics leader generating more than €4B in annual revenue, without assembling a conventional development team around the project.

What this customer story establishes, for this project.

  • Process: ExFabrica led the product and client relationship while Maleus produced the application.
  • Ownership: 100% of the generated code belongs to the client.
  • Delivery: the application was deployed inside the client's own infrastructure.

“This project required substantially less effort than a conventional project while bringing together different profiles. The development gains are considerable and open new ways to design and deliver business applications faster for our clients.”

Proof ledger 01 · Initial need

Turn a complex monthly process into dependable software.

ExFabrica's client needed an application for a management accounting process: ingest accounting and master data, allocate revenue and costs across analytical dimensions, control each period, and produce trusted data for reporting.

The challenge was not a screen or a one-off calculation. It was a complete operational workflow with financial integrity, permissions, traceability, exports, and the governance standards expected by a global logistics organization.

  • Import accounting data and site, account, unit and job master data
  • Configure allocation rules and multi-line percentage distributions
  • Process revenue, payroll and other-charge adjustments
  • Reconcile source and processed totals before period close
  • Export site-scoped data for Snowflake and Power BI

Proof ledger 02 · Decisions and versions

Business context stayed with the person closest to the client.

A delivery manager at ExFabrica built the application day to day without writing the code himself. Maleus turned his decisions and client feedback into specifications, sequenced versions, code and quality checks.

01

Need captured

Product workshops turned detailed accounting rules and user feedback into a versioned product plan.

02

Decision documented

Each change was made explicit in functional and technical specifications before code was produced.

03

Versions launched

Once approved, multiple versions could build in sequence while the delivery manager stepped away.

04

Observable reviewed

Client feedback, application logs and review sessions fed the next iteration without losing the original business intent.

Nicolas Dauvissat

“With Maleus, I started autorun, closed my computer, and completely forgot about it.”

“The next morning, the application had moved forward on its own.”

“Less mental load, more flow: we focus on the business need, not the development.”

Proof ledger 03 · Production delivery

Built fast. Deployed inside the client's constraints.

The application did not stop at a generated prototype. ExFabrica took it through the infrastructure, security and governance gates required for production.

Observable: deployed in the client's infrastructure

The production application ran in the client's own environment, with its deployment pipeline, images, API access and operating constraints. The same application behavior carried across without hard-coded dependencies on Maleus infrastructure.

Proof: independent security audit passed

Exact scope: a specialist selected by the client performed a custom security audit before the application entered production. Maleus addressed 100% of every actionable finding raised by the audit.

Proof ledger 04 · After the first delivery

The product kept absorbing real client feedback.

The first deployed release was a starting point, not the end of the product loop. Later iterations added navigation and usability improvements, site-scoped imports, multi-line allocations, BI export controls, accounting reconciliation and production debugging.

Across roughly 30 later iterations, ExFabrica kept translating detailed user feedback into controlled product changes without rebuilding the delivery team around every request.

Scope of the evidence: on this project, Maleus compressed the code cycle while ExFabrica kept ownership of the client relationship, product decisions and production outcome.

Scope of the customer story

What this project demonstrates for ExFabrica.

The project validated a new delivery setup for ExFabrica: a client-facing delivery manager can lead a substantial business application, while engineering support is reserved for the parts that genuinely require it.

The effort moved to the work that creates enterprise trust: understanding the workflow, integrating client feedback, passing an independent security audit and deploying within the client's own infrastructure.

Turn your next operational workflow into owned software.

Bring the process, the constraints and the people who know it. Maleus turns them into a governed application your organization can deploy and operate.
