Manage skills

Skills are modular pieces of knowledge that AI agents load while they work. Browse the global catalog, write your own custom skills, and scope them to a pattern.

On this page

A skill is a self-contained chunk of knowledge an agent loads when it works on relevant code. Skills are how you teach agents your conventions, patterns, and gotchas. The skills page lives at Agents → Skills.

Global vs custom

Two flavors share the page.

TypeSourceEditable
GlobalShips with Maleus. Carries a lock icon.Read-only.
CustomCreated by your workspace.Edit, duplicate, delete.

Each card shows the skill name, the type badge, an optional pattern in monospace (the file glob it activates on), and a short description.

Find a skill

Use the controls above the grid.

  • The search input filters by name, description, or pattern.
  • The scope segmented control narrows the list to Global, Custom, or both.

Create a custom skill

  1. Click New skill in the top-right. You land on /agents/skills/new.
  2. Fill in the name, description, and optional pattern (the glob that decides when the skill is loaded, e.g. **/*.spec.ts).
  3. Write the skill content. Markdown is supported.
  4. Save. The new skill appears in the Custom section.

Edit or delete

Click any custom skill to open its detail page. From there you can rewrite the content, change the pattern, or use the dropdown to Delete. Global skills open in the same detail view but everything is read-only.

A focused skill beats a long one. Write one skill per topic so the agent loads only what's relevant to the file it's working on.
