App Preview runs the current state of your app on its own page, so you can try it, and record reviews, between two versions.
App Preview (project sidebar) runs your app as it stands right now, outside any version. It is the page to open when you want to use the product rather than build it: a demo, a quick check, showing someone what has been shipped so far.
It is the same preview browser as the one inside a version: address bar, refresh, open in a tab, test accounts, but nothing drives it. No agent, no step, no build.
When it is available
The page always loads; what it shows depends on the state of your development environment.
The same preview browser as inside a version, with no agent and no step attached.
The middle row is deliberate, not a limitation: while a version is being built, its current step decides how the app runs (mocked API during design, real API during development). A permanent second preview would flip the mode under your feet.
Record a review from here
The Maleus widget is in this preview like in any other. Click the floating M, record what is off, and the review lands in App Reviews: a toast offers View to jump straight to it. This is the fastest loop between two versions: try the app, capture what you want changed, and hand the reviews to the agent on the next build.
See Use the Maleus widget inside the preview and Triage app reviews from your users.
App Preview shows your development environment, not a deployed one. What you promote to staging or production is tracked from the Deployments page.
