Use the Maleus widget inside the preview

The floating M button you see in your running app is the same widget that captures reviews. From the preview tab, click it to submit a visual review or chat with the agent.

The Preview tab on a version page runs your app live, exactly like a user would see it once deployed. Inside that running app, the Maleus widget is the floating M button bottom-right. It's the same widget that real users interact with, and it's what feeds the App Reviews page.

It is not the only place you meet it: the App Preview page runs the same app, with the same widget, without opening a version at all. See Open your app without opening a version.

The widget is already there

For projects created in Maleus, the widget is injected automatically. You don't have to do anything to make the M button appear in the preview.

For external projects (when you connected an existing codebase), the widget is opt-in. If the M button doesn't show up, head to Settings → Maleus SDK and follow Install the Maleus widget (external projects only) to wire it.

Click the M button

In the preview, click the floating M button to expand the widget. Two actions appear.

Record the session, describe what is off, send it without leaving the app.

ActionWhat it does
REVIEWCaptures a visual review of the current page (screenshot or DOM snapshot plus recent errors). Submit a note and it lands in App Reviews.
ASKOpens a chat with the agent directly from the running app. Useful when you spot something while clicking around.

Process what you capture

Anything you submit through the widget lands on the App Reviews page (project sidebar). From there:

  1. Find the review in the table.
  2. Open it. The title is inline-editable, and the toggle switches between the Feedback and Technical views.
  3. Click Open in version if the review is linked to a version.
  4. In the version's App Reviews tab (right-hand workspace), click Process with agent to hand the review to the agent. The review is marked In progress and the agent receives a formatted message describing the feedback.

The widget works in every environment your app runs in. Reviews captured from staging are the most actionable, since you can fix them before promoting to production.

Agent overlay vs widget

While the agent is working on your version, a glass-blur overlay covers the preview with the message "Agent is working on your project" plus a collapsible step list. The widget is hidden during this state. The overlay disappears automatically when the agent finishes and the preview auto-refreshes.
